One Weekend. Three Stores. THE DRESS.

I went dress shopping back in June and found THE dress at David's Bridal. I absolutely love it! It's nothing like I thought I wanted. I didn't want strapless; I wanted a v-neck. And I definitely didn't want lace! So what did I end up with? A strapless, lace-and-bead dress! It didn't hurt that it happened to fit me almost perfectly, either. I picked it up at the end of August and it's been in my closet ever since. I also got suckered into buying the "matching" veil and headpiece...not thrilled with the price, but I'm bad at saying no to salespeople, and at least this way it's out of the way and I don't have to worry about it. Hooray! First fitting is April 16th!

The One!

This dress was amazing. Stephanie said she saw in my face how much I loved it the first time I put it on. Again, nothing like I thought I wanted, but the consultant brought it out and as soon as I put it on, I loved it!

The Full Effect of the First Choice

I love how it's not too full at the bottom. The back is sort of plain, which is unfortunate-if I could have a lace-up back I would be sold in a second!

The Veil

This is my veil. Not what I thought I wanted either but it "goes" with the dress so why not?

The Headpiece

This also matches the dress and veil. I love it! I planned on wearing pearls anyway so this will match.

The Shoes

Here are my shoes. They are "Martina" from David's Bridal, dyed "watermelon". With this small of a heel, my dress doesn't need to be hemmed! Hooray for saving money on alterations! They're exactly what I was looking for, too. I just hope I can resist wearing them before the wedding...

First Dress Fitting! 4/16/10

My first dress fitting was kind of...anticlimatic. I'd had my dress in my house for months so it wasn't like a big reveal or anything. And it was so quick! My sister got to see the dress for the first time though, which was fun! I'm getting a 3-point French bustle and bra cups sewn in, but no other alterations are needed, yay!

The Hair and Make-Up

IRL my hair is short, and it suits me. But it's hard to find cute hairstyles for short hair, and I like how I look with my hair up. So I've decided to grow it long for the wedding. I want a simple updo, like maybe a chignon or bun or something (guess it depends on how long my hair can grow!).

My sister is doing my makeup and we spent an hour in Sephora recently testing products. I'm really happy with the results! I spent way more on makeup than I thought I ever would in my life, but I think it's going to look great. Excuse my face in the pictures below!
